Venice Chapter 758 was proud to
present $5,000 to the Gimmefive charity in April at the FBMA

The fourth weekend in October, Ken Onstott & Bill Birk attended the conference in Tampa. At this event, Ken was appointed District 24 President & FBMA Government Relations Chairman. Bill was appointed to the FBMA Board as Assistant Outer Guard. Venice is very proud of these two men.

Chapter 758 was fortunate to have five ladies obtain the Academy of Friendship Degree in Tampa at the April Conference. Shown left to right are: Sharon Maynard, Rena Eagles, Sharyn Heller, Ginny Crowe & Cord Schuit. When you see them please offer congratulations to them.

2008 Children's Christmas Party

Moose Lodge 1308, is very proud to announce Bill Birk, our
Administrator, as the new President of District 24.
October 25, 2008, Bill was installed as President of District
24 in Orlando at the FBMA Conference. We hope you support
Bill and our district by attending the district meeting held the
second Saturday of each month. Check your newsletter for time
and location. Two other men from District 24 were appointed to positions at the FBMA conference. Ken Onstott from Venice is serving as Chairman of Government Relations while Fred Van Nostrand from Punta Gorda was appointed as Assistant Outer Guard. |

| Sunday, August 10th, the Venice Moose Legion guys hosted a Member Appreciation Picnic at the North Jetty Pavilion. About 250 or more people attended the free event. |

Eric Estrada has joined moose members in a fight against online
predators. Eric was a star of the television series "Chips".
He had a display in Las Vegas promoting his campaign, along
with the support of Mooseheart International.
Bill Birk, administrator of Venice Moose Lodge 1308 is pictured
with Eric (left). Karen Beadle, Barbara Neason & Sharon Onstott
were also able to meet and speak with Eric (right). You may
find information regarding the "Safe Surfin' USA Foundation" on
the Moose International web site.

| April 23rd , a bus traveled from the Venice Moose lodge to visit the Sheriff Youth Ranch in Bradenton, FL. Shown above are the group of 28 people that enjoyed the tour and the informative presentation of Frank Kenny. The trip began at the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranch before going to the Bradenton Lodge for lunch. The next stop was in Sebring where the group spent the night and after visiting the Sebring Lodge. The morning of April 24th the bus took the group to Lake Placid Lodge, Arcadia Lodge, with the final stop at Punta Gorda Lodge before heading back to Venice. |

The group of 49 people traveled by bus to Ft. Myers Beach, leaving Friday, June 6th and returned Sunday.

| April 20th, three WOTM ladies from Venice received their Academy of Friendship Degree in Orlando. Pictured are Flo Moore, Jean Ickes & Kathy Leavitt. The event was celebrated at the Academy of Friendship Activity night, May 5th. The Chapter enjoyed lovely refreshments, complete with a cake to celebrate the occasion. |
